Mount Ararat research attracts international documentary crews

Scientific research regarding the purported site of Noah's Ark near Telçeker village on Mount Ararat in Doğubayazıt, Ağrı, has become the subject of international documentary productions. The area was originally identified in 1959 by Map Captain İlhan Durupınar during aerial photography work.

A research project is currently being conducted under the leadership of Professor Dr. Cenker Atila from Sivas Cumhuriyet University, with support from American researcher Andrew Jones. Three separate British and American film crews, including a team led by adventurer Bear Grylls, are currently in the region filming documentaries about the scientific investigations.

Sait Yardımcı, President of the Turkish Film Commission, noted the importance of Doğubayazıt hosting international productions, stating that such projects showcase the region's visual richness to a global audience. Researcher Andrew Jones highlighted the significance of multiple teams working in the area simultaneously, noting the universal interest the site holds across different faiths.
