Mount Bromo to reopen to tourists following forest fires

Tourism activities in the Mount Bromo area of East Java are scheduled to reopen on Thursday, August 20, following the successful containment of forest and land fires. The Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (TNBTS) Office announced the decision after monitoring and evaluating the area's post-fire conditions to ensure the safety of both visitors and staff.

The fires, which broke out on August 8, were completely extinguished within 13 days. The reopening follows a temporary closure of all access points, including Cemorolawang, Wonokitri, Jemplang, Coban Trisula, and Senduro.

Ticket bookings are available via the official TNBTS website, with a daily visitor quota set at 2,752 people. Visitors must comply with strict regulations to prevent future incidents, including a prohibition on campfires and the improper disposal of cigarette butts. Officials have urged tourists to report any signs of smoke or embers immediately.
