Mount Olympus rescue operation saves injured hiker

A rescue operation was successfully completed on Mount Olympus after a 50-year-old Belarusian woman was injured while hiking in the Agios Spileo area. The Greek Fire Service was alerted via a 112 emergency call at approximately 15:30 on Saturday, August 15.

Firefighters from the Katerini and Litochoro units were deployed to the scene. Five firefighters using two vehicles located the woman, placed her on a stretcher, and transported her to a safe location. She was subsequently met by an ambulance from the National Center for Emergency Care (EKAB).
