The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) issued a red heat warning for seven western Romanian counties, with temperatures projected to reach up to 41 °C and tropical nights. The red warning covers Maramureș, Satu Mare, Sălaj, Bihor, Arad, Timiș and Caraș‑Severin, while orange heat warnings affect additional regions with temperatures of 35‑38 °C and a temperature‑humidity index above 80.

From early August the weather shifted to severe instability. ANM released storm warnings that include wind gusts of 70‑90 km/h, hail of 2‑4 cm and torrential rain delivering 15‑50 l/m² in short bursts. Counties such as Dâmbovița and Hunedoara are under both heat and storm alerts, and Moldova also faces yellow and orange storm warnings for districts including Bacău, Suceava, Botoșani and Iași. The combined heat and storm conditions raise risks of flooding, power outages and damage to infrastructure, prompting authorities to advise the public to stay hydrated, avoid exposure, and seek shelter during severe weather.
