Mountain rescues conducted in Castilla y León

Emergency services in Castilla y León, Spain, conducted two separate mountain rescue operations involving hikers.

In Soria, a 60-year-old woman suffered an ankle injury while climbing Pico Urbión. The Emergency Coordination Center deployed a rescue helicopter with a nurse to provide medical assistance. The victim was immobilized with a vacuum splint and evacuated via helicopter to Covaleda.

In León, four hikers—one German and three Americans—were rescued near the Collado Jermoso Refuge after becoming stuck in difficult, wet terrain. The GREIM mountain intervention group and a helicopter from the León Aerial Unit performed the evacuation. The individuals were transported to Caín without requiring immediate medical attention.
