Moza Banco expands financial support for rural enterprises and women in Mozambique

Moza Banco has taken on the management of the Rural Enterprise Finance Facility in Mozambique, a public revolving fund valued at approximately 726 million meticais. Established by the Mozambican government and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), the five-year initiative aims to provide credit, investment mobilization, and technical assistance to rural producers, small and medium enterprises, and companies within the agriculture, livestock, fisheries, and logistics sectors.

In a separate initiative to promote financial inclusion, Moza Banco has partnered with the European Investment Bank (EIB) to launch a 10 million euro credit line specifically for female entrepreneurs. This fund earmarks 40% of its total value for businesses with significant female ownership or management. The financing targets micro, small, and medium enterprises in the agriculture, construction, and technology sectors. The program is supported by technical assistance funded by the European Union and the EIB to provide training and financial literacy to women-led businesses.
