Mozak begins demolition of R$ 220 million Leblon mansion
Demolition has begun on a massive mansion in the Jardim Pernambuco area of Leblon, Rio de Janeiro, to make way for a high-end residential complex called Estância Pernambuco. The property, previously cited as the most expensive mansion in Brazil, was once listed for R$ 220 million and was reportedly sought after by Neymar's family before being acquired by the developer Mozak in 2024.
The new development will consist of ten luxury houses on an 11,500-square-meter plot. The project has an estimated total sales value (VGV) of approximately R$ 360 million. Seven of the ten units have already been sold for prices ranging between R$ 24 million and R$ 42 million.
Designed by architect Thiago Bernardes with landscaping by Daniel Nunes, the residences will feature views of Christ the Redeemer, the Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas, and the sea. Completion is expected in the second half of 2028.
