Mozambique and Botswana sign agreements to boost trade and tourism
Mozambique and Botswana have signed two separate Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) aimed at deepening economic and tourism ties between the two nations.
On the business front, the Confederação das Associações Económicas de Moçambique (CTA) and Business Botswana signed an agreement in Gaborone to facilitate private sector cooperation. The MoU establishes a framework for B2B meetings, market information sharing, and identifying joint investment opportunities to support the internationalization of the Mozambican private sector within the SADC region.
Simultaneously, the Botswana Tourism Organisation (BTO) and Mozambique’s National Agency for Tourism Development and Investment, Public Fund (ANDITUR, PF) entered into a partnership to boost regional tourism. This agreement focuses on investment promotion, destination marketing, and sustainable development. Key initiatives include improving air connectivity and creating multi-destination travel packages that combine Botswana’s wildlife attractions with Mozambique’s marine and beach tourism.
