Mozambique approves new cloud and data center regulations

Mozambique has approved two new regulatory frameworks to govern the use of cloud services and data center infrastructure: the Cloud Computing Regulation (Decree No. 72/2025) and the Data Center Regulation (Decree No. 71/2025).

These regulations introduce specific requirements for registration, licensing, security, operational continuity, and data protection. The impact is particularly significant for organizations operating in essential sectors, which may face heightened requirements regarding provider classification, data sensitivity, and the physical location of primary data centers.
