Mozambique invests in technical education and school infrastructure

The Mozambique government is investing $12 million to modernize and rehabilitate nine public technical and vocational education institutes across eight provinces. The initiative, part of the Vocational Education Reform Support Program, focuses on institutional strengthening, trainer capacity building, infrastructure rehabilitation, and equipping laboratories and workshops with modern tools. Targeted institutions include the Ribáuè Agricultural Institute and the Ilha de Moçambique Polytechnic Institute.

In a separate educational development, the Maputo Port Development Company (MPDC)—a consortium including DP World, Grindrod Ltd, and CFM—has allocated 67 million meticais for the construction of a secondary school in the Pessene administrative post, Moamba district. The new facility will include administrative buildings, water supply systems, and areas for agricultural and livestock activities, aiming to reduce travel distances for local students and improve learning environments.
