Mozambique police arrest one suspect after rhino poaching

Mozambique Republic Police (PRM) have apprehended one 38-year-old suspect and are pursuing three others following the poaching of a rhinoceros in Kruger National Park on the 20th. The operation took place in the Massingir district of Gaza Province.

In coordination with reserve rangers, police conducted a raid on a suspect's residence, leading to a pursuit. During the operation, authorities seized four firearms, an axe, and two vehicles. Carlos Macuácua, head of the PRM Public Relations Department in Gaza, stated that efforts to locate the three fugitives are ongoing to ensure they are brought to justice. This marks the second poaching case resolved by authorities in Gaza province this year.
