Mozambique seeks UAE investment to drive industrialization
The Mozambican government is intensifying efforts to attract capital from the United Arab Emirates to drive industrialization and accelerate national economic growth. This strategy aims to diversify the economy and increase international competitiveness by targeting strategic sectors such as natural resources, tourism, agriculture, and technology.
During the AIM Congress 2026 in Dubai, Mozambique's Minister of Economy, Basílio Muhate, met with Sheikha Somayer Noor, president of the UAE-based NOOR HOLDING. The discussions focused on identifying new investment opportunities and establishing strategic partnerships to create value chains that support national productivity and job creation.
By engaging with international investors, Mozambique seeks to transform its vast natural resource potential—including gas, coal, and minerals—into concrete development projects. The government's goal is to secure long-term partnerships that facilitate technology transfer and infrastructure development while addressing domestic challenges such as poverty and unemployment.
