Mozart Requiem performances scheduled in Rovereto and Secondigliano
Two distinct musical events featuring Mozart’s Requiem are set to take place in Italy.
In Rovereto, the Associazione Filarmonica di Rovereto will inaugurate its 105th concert season at the Teatro Zandonai on November 1. Directed by Filippo Maria Bressan, the performance will feature nearly one hundred musicians, including the Orchestra Filarmonica Settenovecento, the Coro Giovanile Italiano, and the Coro Giovanile Trentino. The program includes Haydn’s Symphony No. 30, Mozart’s offertorio ‘Alma Dei creatoris’, and the Requiem. Soloists include Elena Di Marino, Giulia Taccagni, Tommaso Zanello, and Giacomo Pieracci.
In the Secondigliano district of Naples, the church of Santi Cosma e Damiano will host a free performance of the Requiem on October 29 as part of the ‘Extra Moenia’ project. Led by Maestro Enzo Amato, the event will combine musical direction with a biographical exploration of the mysteries surrounding Mozart’s death and the completion of his final score. The performance will feature the Orchestra da Camera di Napoli, the Coro Axis Mundi, and soloists Virginia Cirillo, Domenica Pennacchio, Walter Omaggio, and Antonio de Lisio.
