MozYouth and ADIN implement paid internship program in Mozambique
The MozYouth paid internship program, part of the Conecta Negócios project, has integrated over 670 young people into professional internships in Cabo Delgado. Coordinated by the Agência de Desenvolvimento Integrado do Norte (ADIN) and funded by the World Bank, the initiative aims to provide 1,000 total internships across the provinces of Cabo Delgado (700), Nampula (200), and Niassa (100).
In Cabo Delgado, approximately 310 participants have completed their internships, with about 100 securing subsequent employment. To bolster entrepreneurship and business management skills, a two-day training session was held in Pemba on October 19-20, 2026. The program covers several districts, including Chiúre, Mecúfi, Metuge, Namuno, Balama, Montepuez, and Pemba.
By expanding access to professional training and income generation, the initiative seeks to promote socioeconomic inclusion and community resilience, specifically aiming to prevent the recruitment of youth by violent extremist groups.
