Youth employment and internship initiatives

Overview

Various regional programs are implementing training and internship initiatives to facilitate workforce entry for young people and specific demographics.

In Mos, the municipality concluded two programs: an Integrated Employment Program that saw 58% of its 100 participants secure employment, and the ‘Fórmate na Empresa’ initiative. The latter, supported by the Xunta de Galicia and the Association of Businessmen of Mos, focused on training participants under 30 through collaborations with companies in sectors like metalworking and information technology.

In Mozambique, the World Bank-funded MozYouth program, coordinated by the Agência de Desenvolvimento Integrado do Norte (ADIN), has integrated over 670 young people into professional internships across Cabo Delgado, Nampula, and Niassa. In Cabo Delgado, approximately 310 participants have completed internships, with about 100 securing subsequent employment. The initiative includes training in business management to promote socioeconomic inclusion and community resilience against recruitment by violent extremist groups.
