MPR RI launches e-Aspirasi Konstitusi for public input
The People's Consultative Assembly (MPR RI) has opened the e-Aspirasi Konstitusi, an online channel designed to gather public input for an ongoing constitutional review process. The initiative aims to ensure the constitution remains relevant and does not merely function as a normative text.
During a meeting with the Center for Constitutional Studies (Pusako) from Andalas University, MPR Deputy Chair Lestari Moerdijat emphasized the importance of public participation as a corrective function for state institutions. She noted that the assembly faces challenges regarding public trust and views academic and public input as a strategic way to address these concerns.
The goal of the digital channel is to collect substantive ideas rather than political recommendations. The MPR aims to complete a comprehensive report on the constitutional study by early 2027.
