Retailers expand presence across Romania with multiple new store openings

Romania is seeing significant retail activity with several international and local brands expanding their presence. MR. DIY is celebrating the opening of its second Bucharest location in Colosseum Mall with a special event on September 4 and 5. Meanwhile, the discount retailer Action is opening its 20th Romanian store in Sighetu Marmației on September 3.

In the fashion sector, streetwear brand Made by Society has expanded into the IULIUS network, opening new locations in Timișoara and Cluj, and reopening in Iași, with plans for Suceava by year-end. Additionally, the Danish retailer NORMAL is entering the Romanian market with planned openings in Bucharest and Timișoara in late September.

On the political and social front, Călin Georgescu has announced a visit to the Codăești agro-food market in Vaslui on September 5. He is launching the ‘Toamna Cămărilor Românești’ initiative, which encourages citizens to support the local economy by purchasing products directly from Romanian producers and farmers.
