MRC party members prepare for elections following leadership change
Following the election of Tiriane Balbine Noah as the national president of the Mouvement pour la renaissance du Cameroun (MRC) during an extraordinary convention in Yaoundé, party members are beginning to organize for upcoming elections.
Lawyer and party activist Fabien Kengne announced his intention to run for a seat in the National Assembly for the Wouri Est constituency. While Kengne has expressed his ambitions, official candidacy remains subject to approval by the party's competent authorities.
In a move toward party cohesion, former candidate Pierre Emmanuel Binyam has congratulated Tiriane Noah and called for unity among militants to prepare for the 2027 electoral cycle. Meanwhile, legal proceedings continue involving Willy Mengue, a former official excluded from the party in June, who appeared before the Yaoundé-Ekounou Court of First Instance.
