Mérida International Classical Theatre Festival expands programming

The Mérida International Classical Theatre Festival is bringing two of its celebrated productions to the Teatro Municipal Maestro Álvarez Alonso in Martos. The upcoming program includes “Fedra, en los infiernos,” a contemporary reading of the classic myth starring Lydia Bosch, and “Jasón y las Furias,” a revision of the Jason and Medea myth written by Nando López.

In Mérida, the Teatro Romano continues to host performances that bridge classical tradition and contemporary stage languages. One such production, “Las 9 Musas,” features nine actresses and four musicians. The show focuses on the Muses as individual protagonists with distinct identities, using original text and music to explore the history of the arts and the current direction of humanity.
