Märkischer Kreis updates mental health and social psychiatric service concept

The Märkischer Kreis has updated its concept for the Social Psychiatric Service and the Guardianship Authority. Titled ‘Auf Stärken bauen’ (Building on Strengths), the revised guidelines aim to support individuals dealing with mental illnesses, addiction, and dementia.

The service focuses on providing assistance for conditions such as depression, anxiety, and obsessive-compulsive disorders, as well as issues related to alcohol and medication. The approach emphasizes treating affected individuals with dignity and working together to foster independence and social participation. To increase accessibility, the service offers low-threshold, local counseling, including home visits and digital consultations.
