Indonesia's Stock Index Surges 4.2% to Lead ASEAN

The Jakarta Stock Exchange (BEI) reported that the Indonesia Stock Exchange Composite Index (IHSG) rose 4.24 % over the week of 13‑17 July 2026, closing at 6,175.54. The gain made IHSG the top‑performing market in the ASEAN region, surpassing Malaysia’s KLCI (up 2.36 %), the Philippines’ PSEi (up 1.87 %), Thailand’s SET (up 1.08 %) and Singapore’s STI (up 0.73 %).

The rally lifted total market capitalization to roughly Rp 10.749 trillion, an increase of about 3.95 % from the prior week. Daily average trading volume also climbed, rising 27.75 % to 26.174 billion shares. Analysts cited strong domestic fundamentals and continued investor interest despite global market volatility.

The performance contrasted with declines in several regional peers, including Vietnam’s VN‑Index (down 1.32 %) and major Asian indices such as Japan’s Nikkei 225 (down 6.44 %).
