Mu Cang Chai experiences tourist congestion during rice harvest
Large numbers of tourists have flocked to Mu Cang Chai to witness the ripe rice harvest season, leading to significant traffic congestion. In the Mong Ngua Hill area of Vong Lua village, travelers reported being stuck in traffic for over two hours due to narrow roads.
Local authorities noted that the congestion is primarily caused by crowds gathering to watch the sunset. The current infrastructure, consisting of rural roads approximately 3 meters wide, is insufficient for the high volume of vehicles. Additionally, a section of the road to Mong Ngua Hill has been affected by a landslide, reducing it to a single lane. Local officials have requested funding to repair the damaged sections.
