Muara Enim corruption trial reveals Rp13.1 billion in procurement bribery

During a trial at the Palembang Corruption Court, prosecutors from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) detailed the distribution of Rp13.1 billion in commitment fees related to the procurement of Chromebooks and smartboards for the Muara Enim Regency Education and Culture Office (Disdikbud).

The fees, reportedly amounting to 10 percent of the procurement value after taxes, were allegedly distributed among several state officials. The largest share, totaling Rp3.3 billion, was reportedly allocated to the inactive Regent of Muara Enim, Edison.

Other recipients identified in the indictment include the Head of Disdikbud Muara Enim, Rudi Hasrullah, who allegedly received Rp870 million; the Head of the SD Division, Abi Nurwardani, who allegedly received Rp700 million; and the procurement official, Karmidi, who allegedly received Rp300 million.
