Muara Enim procurement bribery investigation

An investigation by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) into procurement bribery within the Muara Enim Regency Government has progressed from trial revelations to witness summons.

During a trial at the Palembang Corruption Court, prosecutors detailed a scheme involving Rp13.1 billion in commitment fees related to the procurement of Chromebooks and smartboards for the Muara Enim Regency Education and Culture Office. The indictment alleged that these fees, representing approximately 10 percent of the procurement value, were distributed among various officials. The largest share, Rp3.3 billion, was reportedly allocated to the inactive Regent of Muara Enim, Edison, while other recipients included the Head of Disdikbud Muara Enim, Rudi Hasrullah, and other division heads and procurement officials.

Following these developments, the KPK summoned the President Director of PT Millenium Solusi Abadi (MSA) to testify as a witness. The investigation, which stems from operations beginning in June 2026, seeks to clarify the company’s role in the procurement process. Investigators are examining allegations that bribery was used to secure government projects and influence audit results through the use of nominee accounts and cash transactions to disguise the movement of funds.
