Muhoozi Kainerugaba supporters mobilize for 2031 presidential bid

Supporters of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) are launching mobilization efforts to endorse General Muhoozi Kainerugaba for the 2031 Ugandan presidency. In the West Nile region, the PLU is scheduled to hold a major endorsement event in Arua City, which will include the unveiling of registration books for supporters.

In the Rukiga District of the Kigezi sub-region, PLU supporters have also begun activities to endorse Kainerugaba’s candidacy. During these launches, supporters praised the Chief of Defence Forces for his role in improving relations between Uganda and Rwanda. They specifically noted that his engagements helped facilitate the reopening of the Uganda-Rwanda border in 2022, which provided economic relief to local communities following a period of border closures that had disrupted cross-border trade.
