Muğla Hospital Removes 4‑cm Kidney Stone in One Session with ECIRS Technique

A patient with an approximately 4‑centimetre kidney stone was treated at Muğla Education and Research Hospital using the Endoscopic Combined Intra‑Renal Surgery (ECIRS) method, marking the first use of this technique in Muğla. The minimally invasive procedure was performed simultaneously through the skin and natural urinary tract by two surgeons, achieving complete stone removal in a single session.

Prof. Dr. Hasan Deliktaş, head of the urology department, explained that ECIRS “allows patients to recover more quickly, lowers the risk of complications, and significantly improves treatment success,” highlighting its advantages for large and complex stones.
