Muğla implements new tax reporting for online rental listings

The Ministry of Finance has implemented a new mandatory monthly reporting system to combat the unregistered economy in Muğla, specifically targeting the short-term rental market in areas like Bodrum, Marmaris, and Fethiye.

Under the new regulation, digital platforms and social media entities that host advertisements for luxury villas, yachts, or daily rentals must automatically transmit data to the Ministry. This data includes the advertiser's Turkish Republic identification number, full address, advertisement details, and the requested rental price. This measure aims to ensure tax compliance and protect the rights of registered tourism operators and real estate professionals by bringing previously hidden economic activities into the official tax system.
