Turkish municipalities launch widespread infrastructure and urban projects

Various municipalities across Turkey are conducting extensive infrastructure and environmental projects to improve urban living and transportation.

Aydın Metropolitan Municipality, led by Mayor Özlem Çerçioğlu, is implementing widespread road construction, maintenance, and bridge building projects across all 17 districts, including Buharkent, Nazilli, and Söke, to strengthen the regional transportation network.

In Muğla, the Muğla Metropolitan Municipality completed road renewals in Seydikemer with a 102.5 million TL investment, targeting improved access for agriculture, livestock, and tourism in the Girdev and Erendağ areas. Similarly, Bodrum Municipality has paved approximately 298,000 square meters of roads across 59 routes to enhance driving safety and comfort.

Other regional efforts include Kahramanmaraş Metropolitan Municipality reorganizing the Müftülük Square junction to alleviate traffic congestion by implementing one-way systems and removing signalization. In Didim, Mayor Hatice Gençay reported that the construction of a new skate park is proceeding with a focus on environmental preservation, including the careful relocation of trees to protect the local green space. Meanwhile, Kuşadası Municipality is maintaining urban greenery and repairing city furniture to improve public parks and social areas.
