Turkish transportation and municipal infrastructure updates

Overview

Turkey continues to execute various transportation and urban infrastructure projects across different regions to improve connectivity and support local economies.

In the Van region, construction is progressing on the Van Lake Coastal Road, with a 20-kilometer section already complete and further stretches planned to reach a total length of 65 kilometers. Simultaneously, the Çeşmeli-Kızkalesi motorway project in Mersin has reached a 98 percent physical completion rate. This 52-kilometer project, featuring multiple tunnels and bridges, is expected to reduce travel times from 2.5 hours to approximately 18 minutes.

Municipalities in the Muğla province are also expanding their local efforts. Following the completion of road upgrades in the Seydikemer district totaling 102.55 million TL to assist tourism, agriculture, and livestock, Bodrum Municipality has paved approximately 298,000 square meters of roads across 59 routes to enhance driving safety and comfort.

Further regional developments include Aydın Metropolitan Municipality implementing widespread road construction, maintenance, and bridge building projects across all 17 districts, including Buharkent, Nazilli, and Söke. In Kahramanmaraş, the Metropolitan Municipality is reorganizing the Müftülük Square junction to alleviate traffic congestion through one-way systems and the removal of signalization. Additionally, local projects in Didim and Kuşadası are focusing on environmental preservation, urban greenery, and the maintenance of public social areas.
