Brazil recognizes female leadership in agribusiness through major awards

Various awards and events in Brazil are highlighting the growing role of women and entrepreneurship in the agribusiness sector.

The 9th edition of the ‘Prêmio Mulheres do Agro’, organized by Bayer and the Associação Brasileira do Agronegócio (Abag), recognized ten winners for their contributions to innovation, sustainability, and research. Winners included Kátia Helena Fenner Rodrigues for medium-sized properties and Ana Karina Klinke for small properties. The award saw a record 394 entries.

Simultaneously, the Sebrae Mulher de Negócios award recognized female entrepreneurs at state levels. In Santa Catarina, Samira Pereira won the rural producer and craft category, while in Roraima, four entrepreneurs were honored, including indigenous representatives from the Kauwê community.

Additionally, the Agrotec fair in Porto Velho continues to expand, featuring new pavilions and animal exhibitions to support regional agricultural growth.
