Recognition of Brazilian agribusiness innovation and social

Brazilian agribusiness companies and professionals have received various industry recognitions highlighting social initiatives, gender roles, and cooperative excellence.

In August 2026, Usina Jacarezinho, part of Grupo Maringá, was honored at the 19th MasterCana Centro-Sul & Social Awards for its ‘Entre o Colo e a Carreira’ project, which provides infrastructure for breastfeeding support and assistance for employees returning from maternity leave. Additionally, the cooperative Copagril received the Destaque Mercedes 2026 Award for excellence in agricultural inputs.

During the same period, the Mulheres do Agro awards, organized by Bayer and the Brazilian Agribusiness Association (Abag), recognized rural producers and researchers. The event saw a 10% increase in applications, with ten women reaching the final stages in categories such as Rural Producer and Science and Research. Marcio Santos, CEO of Bayer Brazil, noted that women currently represent one-third of rural properties. The 9th edition of the ‘Prêmio Mulheres do Agro’ saw a record 394 entries, honoring ten winners for contributions to innovation, sustainability, and research. Notable recipients included Kátia Helena Fenner Rodrigues for medium-sized properties and Ana Karina Klinke for small properties.

Simultaneously, the Sebrae Mulher de Negócios award recognized female entrepreneurs at state levels. In Santa Catarina, Samira Pereira won the rural producer and craft category, while in Roraima, four entrepreneurs were honored, including indigenous representatives from the Kauwê community.

In September 2026, the cooperative movement received further recognition. The 10th anniversary of the ‘Quem é Quem 2026’ awards, organized by Gessulli Agrimídia, featured public voting in categories such as innovation and female leadership. Furthermore, the cooperative Copacol was named the best in Brazilian agribusiness for 2025, reporting R$ 11.1 billion in revenue and planning investments exceeding R$ 1 billion by 2028.
