Multiple fires prompt extensive firefighting response in Austria
A fire broke out in an Asian restaurant on the Wiedner Gürtel in Vienna on the morning of 8 July. Six fire engines and 27 firefighters responded, extinguishing the blaze and preventing it from spreading to nearby areas. No injuries were reported and the restaurant is expected to remain closed for several days.
Later that week, a car caught fire in a wooden carport in Reichersberg, Upper Austria. The incident triggered an alarm‑level‑two response with eleven fire brigades and multiple breathing‑apparatus teams. The vehicle was completely destroyed, but the fire was contained before reaching adjacent structures and no one was hurt. Police suspect a short‑circuit in the engine bay caused the blaze.
