Multiple fires reported across Indonesia in Bengkulu, Kampar, and Tulungagung

Several significant fire incidents were reported across different regions in Indonesia on August 11 and 12, 2026.

In Bengkulu City, a fire swept through a densely populated residential area in the Pengantungan neighborhood, destroying 21 houses. Firefighters reported difficulties accessing the site due to the high density of the settlement. Authorities are currently assessing the total material losses and casualties.

In Kampar, Riau, two separate land fires occurred in Desa Lereng and Desa Rimbo Panjang. The fire in Rimbo Panjang affected approximately three hectares of peatland, involving both surface and ground fires. Three hotspots were also detected in the region. Joint teams including the BPBD, military, and police worked to contain the flames.

In Tulungagung, East Java, a fire at a poultry farm in Bendungan Village resulted in the death of approximately 7,000 chickens. The blaze, which occurred in the early hours of August 11, caused estimated material losses of Rp1 billion, destroying the building, feed, and equipment.
