Multiple residential fires reported across France
Multiple residential fires were reported across different regions in France during late September.
In Chaumont, two consecutive fires occurred overnight between September 23 and 24. The first involved a vehicle belonging to the city, which was engulfed in flames on Rue des Marronniers. Shortly after, a fire broke out in the roof of an unoccupied house on Rue de la Cité Foch. Authorities noted that the timing and circumstances of these incidents appear suspicious, and police are investigating the origins.
In Toulouse, firefighters responded to a balcony fire in the Lalande district on the morning of September 22. The rapid intervention of 20 firefighters prevented the flames from spreading into the interior of the building, allowing residents to return to their homes after a temporary evacuation.
In Pontorson, a significant fire broke out on September 21 in a house located on Boulevard Général Patton. The blaze spread from the ground floor to the upper levels and attic, requiring the mobilization of 26 firefighters from multiple rescue centers in Normandy and Brittany. No casualties were reported.
