Multiple road accidents reported in France
Two separate traffic accidents occurred in France on Sunday, October 25.
In La Cluse-et-Mijoux, a head-on collision involving two light vehicles took place on the RN 57 at La Gauffre. The crash resulted in six injuries: a 40-year-old woman and four adolescents (aged 10, 13, 15, and 16) from the first vehicle, and a 58-year-old man from the second. All injured parties were transported to the hospital in Pontarlier. Emergency responders from Pontarlier and La Cluse-et-Mijoux attended the scene, and traffic was managed via alternating lanes until the vehicles were cleared.
In the Le Havre metropolitan area, a collision occurred on the D6382 departmental road between Montivilliers and Octeville. A driver slowed down to avoid an animal, causing a second vehicle to strike them from behind. Police determined the second driver, a 25-year-old woman, was driving under the influence with a blood alcohol level of 1.4 g/L. Following the incident, the driver was placed in a sobering cell and her probationary license was seized.
