Mumbai Central Railway to implement mega block on October 18

Central Railway's Mumbai Division has scheduled a mega block for Sunday, October 18, 2026, to conduct essential engineering and maintenance work across several suburban rail segments.

On the main line, a block will occur between Thane and Kalyan from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM to facilitate work on the fifth and sixth lines. During this period, numerous mail and express trains, including the Solapur-CSMT Vande Bharat Express and the Howrah-CSMT Mumbai Mail, will be diverted to fast lines, potentially causing delays of 10 to 15 minutes.

Additionally, services on the Harbor and Trans-Harbor lines will be affected, specifically on the Panvel-Vashi section. MEMU services between Diva and Kopar will also face disruptions, with certain trains being short-terminated at Kopar station. Passengers are advised to plan their journeys in advance due to these scheduled interruptions.
