Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation receives green certification for five Line 3 stations

The Indian Green Building Council (IGBC), a part of the Confederation of Indian Industry, has awarded green building certification plaques to the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (MMRCL) for five stations on Line 3.

The certified stations, part of Package No. 3, include Jagannath Shankarshet Metro (Mumbai Central), Mahalaxmi Metro, Science Centre, Acharya Atre Chowk, and Worli. This recognition highlights the project’s focus on resource efficiency, environmental responsibility, and sustainable infrastructure development.

Line 3, which spans the Colaba–Bandra–SEEPZ corridor, consists of 27 stations in total. The certified stations are designed to support last-mile connectivity, featuring dedicated drop-off zones and proximity to bus stops within 100 metres to encourage public transport use. This latest recognition brings the total number of MMRCL stations certified by the IGBC in 2026 to 16.
