Mumbai rail services disrupted by monsoon damage and suburban line block
Heavy monsoon rains have damaged the Karjat‑Lonavala ghat section of the Mumbai‑Pune route. Central Railway cancelled or diverted several long‑distance trains, including the Sinhagad Express and Deccan Express, and redirected others via alternative routes while repair work on the third line continues through late July.
On July 19 a scheduled mega block on the Trans‑Harbour suburban line suspended both up and down services between Thane and Vashi/Nerul for about five hours. Passengers were urged to check the National Train Enquiry System, plan alternate routes and allow extra travel time. All other suburban lines – Central, Harbour, Uran and Western – operated normally.
