Munich S-Bahn Line S5 Suspended for Three Months Due to Bridge Works

The Munich S-Bahn’s S5 line will be out of service for nearly three months while bridge reconstruction takes place at Großhelfendorf. Work starts on 24 July at 20:50 and is scheduled to finish on 16 October around 04:30, resulting in a complete interruption of the line.

During the closure, a temporary bus replacement service operates between Aying and Kreuzstraße, covering the stations Peiß, Großhelfendorf and others. Additional night‑time bus shuttles are planned for several periods in July, August and September to accommodate extended construction phases, with schedules published on Deutsche Bahn’s construction site page.
