Greek regional and municipal councils convene for local governance

Various regional and municipal councils across Greece are convening to address local administrative, economic, and infrastructural matters.

In the South Aegean, the Regional Council will discuss providing nine residences in Kos to meet the housing needs of medical staff at the Kos General Hospital. Discussions will also cover financial incentives for healthcare personnel and budget amendments.

In Epirus, the Regional Council is set to debate major road axes, including the Igoumenitsa–Preveza and Preveza–Ionia routes, as well as the environmental and resource impact of two proposed data centers in Ioannina.

Numerous municipalities, including Chania, Messolonghi, Kalamaria, Veria, Amyntaio, and Kontariotissa, have scheduled sessions to manage local budgets, public works, urban planning, and municipal services such as waste management, street lighting, and school cleaning staff recruitment.
