Municipal employees in Nogoyá accused of identity theft and fraud

Two employees of the Economic Development and Production Directorate of the Nogoyá Municipality have been reported to the judiciary for alleged identity theft and fraud involving the national 'Fomentar Empleo' program. The complaint was filed on October 16 by Ricardo Alberto Pazo, the director of the department.

According to the report, the two service-contracted employees allegedly used the personal data of a third municipal worker to register her as their employer within the national employment program. The victim, a maintenance worker, had reportedly shared her personal information with her colleagues to receive assistance with tax procedures through ARCA (formerly AFIP).

The alleged maneuver resulted in the victim accumulating a tax debt of approximately 3 million pesos, which has prevented her from receiving payment for her municipal work. The irregularity was discovered when the worker attempted to investigate the origin of her mounting tax debt.
