Latin American regions implement diverse healthcare and social welfare initiatives
Various regional and national initiatives are being implemented across Latin America to improve healthcare access and social welfare.
In Chile, the Ministry of Health has launched the 'Plan Enlace,' a public-private partnership involving compensation funds like La Araucana and Los Héroes to reduce non-GES medical waiting lists. Additionally, the Caja Costarricense de Seguro Social (CCSS) is developing a new institutional telehealth policy to enhance digital medical services, while mobile units in Guatuso are providing free mammograms to over 660 women.
In Mexico, social assistance programs are active in Tamaulipas, providing functional devices to vulnerable families, and in Querétaro, where the DIF has conducted thousands of preventive health consultations.
