Brazilian municipalities resume school classes on Aug 3, 2026

On Monday, 3 August 2026, municipal school networks across Brazil reopened for the second semester. In Ubatuba (São Paulo), 12,376 students returned to 50 schools after an education‑week program. Goiânia (Goiás) saw more than 113,000 pupils re‑enter 376 units, with the mayor officially opening the calendar. Itabira (Minas Gerais) welcomed 9,407 learners to 48 schools, while Imperatriz (Maranhão) reinstated classes for about 40,000 students in 125 schools. Paraíso do Tocantins (Tocantins) prepared for roughly 6,000 children in its municipal education centers. All jurisdictions highlighted planning activities, early‑enrollment calls for 2027, and the use of technology and pedagogical projects to support learning recovery and preparation for national exams such as the ENEM.
