Municipalities in Brazil launch animal rabies vaccination campaigns
Local governments in Brazil are initiating public health campaigns to vaccinate dogs and cats against rabies.
In Penedo, Alagoas, the Municipal Health Secretariat is conducting a campaign from November 3 through December 7. The initiative includes fixed vaccination points, rural area services, and mobile teams that visit homes for elderly owners or those with mobility issues. The program also allows for the registration of households with multiple animals or difficult-to-manage pets to receive home visits.
In São Paulo, the city is hosting the 5th Animal Week SP from November 7 to 14. This program offers free rabies vaccinations, microchipping, and the issuance of Animal General Registries (RGA) and neutering terms. The campaign also features responsible adoption programs for dogs and cats, with specific locations and requirements for interested residents.
