Municipalities in Chile, Uruguay and Ecuador deliver new housing and road upgrades for local families

In Rio Claro, Chile, the Ministry of Housing and Urbanism approved 685.95 million Chilean pesos for paving streets, drainage and sidewalks in the Villa Raquel sector, a project that has been pending for over 25 years. Local officials said the work will finally end years of poor road conditions and improve access to services.

In San José, Uruguay, the Ministry of Housing and Territorial Planning, together with the municipal government, inaugurated a housing complex that provides 58 new homes for families previously living in the El Tanque settlement. The development was financed by the Social and Urban Infrastructure Trust and follows the Plan Avanzar, with authorities emphasizing the project as a "policy of the State".

In Riobamba, Ecuador, the city government completed an 292‑metre paved‑stone road in the Las Palmas neighbourhood, laying more than 53,000 pavers to replace dusty or muddy streets. The upgrade is expected to improve mobility for dozens of households and enhance overall safety and urban appearance.
