Montenegro announces 1 million euro scholarship fund for doctoral research

The Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation of Montenegro has launched a call for excellence scholarships dedicated to doctoral research. The program has allocated a total of 1,000,000 euros to support students enrolled in their first year of doctoral studies at Montenegrin universities during the 2026/2027 academic year.

Selected recipients will receive a monthly stipend of 800 euros (net) to cover living expenses. Additionally, the program provides up to 10,000 euros (gross) annually to cover research project costs, including tuition, materials, data collection, ethical approvals, and international mobility. The scholarships are awarded for a period of up to three years and aim to strengthen the country's research capacity, promote scientific excellence, and encourage the internationalization of scientific work.
