Various Brazilian municipalities launch rabies vaccination campaigns

Several municipalities in Brazil are initiating rabies vaccination campaigns for dogs and cats to prevent the spread of the disease to humans.

In Caucaia, the municipal health department aims to immunize over 105,000 animals across two stages, starting November 7. The campaign utilizes a Vacinômetro tool to monitor progress. Similarly, Rio das Ostras has begun training environmental surveillance teams for its campaign starting November 7, which will run through the four Saturdays of the month.

Other local initiatives include a “Dia D” vaccination day in Brejo da Madre de Deus on November 7, with locations in the headquarters and districts of Fazenda Nova and São Domingos. Santa Cruz do Capibaribe is also holding a “Dia D” on November 7, offering multiple service points across the city and conducting home visits in rural areas.
