Municipalities inaugurate new child recreation and activity centers
Municipalities in Cyprus and Turkey have inaugurated new community facilities focused on children and recreation.
In Topçuköy, İskele Municipality opened a 7,800-square-meter Child Park and Recreation Area. The facility includes basketball and volleyball courts, playgrounds, walking paths, fitness equipment, and a buffet. The area also features a “Ballı Tepe” section with bee and hive figures, reflecting the village's association with beekeeping. Minister of Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu and İskele Mayor Hasan Sadıkoğlu attended the ceremony.
In Alaçatı, Çeşme Municipality opened the Hayriye and Vehbi Özen Child Activity Center along with the renovated Mavi Kelebek Anı Park. This marks the third nursery center established by the municipality in two and a half years. Mayor Lâl Denizli noted that the center provides a safe and high-quality educational environment for children. The adjacent park was redesigned to honor the cultural memory of the Bosnian community, using the blue butterfly as a symbol.
