Municipalities of Aparecida and Botucatu hold pet adoption fairs in São Paulo

The city of Aparecida organized a pet‑adoption fair on Saturday, May 9, at the Buridi Shopping’s Buriti Kids area, featuring 29 rescued dogs and cats. Attendees completed questionnaires and signed responsibility agreements; all animals were provided with vaccination and sterilisation, with puppies receiving their first vaccine and a voucher for future castration.

Botucatu’s municipal animal shelter hosted a similar “Open‑Door Kennel” event on Saturday, May 30, at its Avenida Itália facility. The event offered a range of dogs and cats, all already vaccinated, de‑wormed, micro‑chipped and neutered, and required prospective adopters to be 18 or older with identification and proof of residence. Both events emphasized responsible ownership, community engagement and efforts to reduce animal abandonment in the state of São Paulo.
