Municipality of Nafpaktia launches animal welfare program in schools

The Municipality of Nafpaktia, in collaboration with the Panhellenic Animal Welfare and Environmental Federation, successfully implemented the educational program ‘Pets-Family Members’. Held in observance of World Animal Day, the initiative included presentations at several local schools, including primary schools and a gymnasium in Nafpaktos and Galata.

The program focused on teaching students about responsible pet ownership, specifically regarding dogs and cats, which are frequently abandoned. Discussions covered the obligations of pet care, the importance of responsible adoption, and methods to prevent animal abandonment. Additionally, students were instructed on how to safely and respectfully approach companion animals under adult supervision to ensure the safety of both the children and the animals.
